Over the past two months, Dandora Youth Football Club has been engaged in a competitive search for our next head football coach, to identify a leader who will take our football program to the next level of excellence in a way that both honours the history of this sport in Dandora, and charts a bold new vision for our future growth.
Today we’re excited to share that we have acquired the services of Ezekiel Akwana, former Sofapaka, AFC leopards, and KCB tactician as our new head coach.
Club patron Johanna Omolo was present to confirm the arrival of the new head coach during a stakeholder meeting held at the Dandora Stadium on Tuesday. “As a club, we believe we are on track with the changes we have made so far in the coaching department after an exciting debut in the FKF Div2 season,” said Club Patron Johanna Omolo during the announcement.
“We are aware of his work ethic and believe he will work with the current crop of players we have at the moment while trying to build a formidable side”. Akwana, or ‘Sacchi’ as he is popularly known, boasts of over a decade of coaching experience and has worked in several top-flight and grassroots football clubs in Kenya. He takes a holistic approach toward coaching: His philosophy encompasses the body, mind, and heart.
Under his guidance, athletes learn the fundamentals, build their strength through conditioning, and repeatedly practice pressure situations so they are mentally prepared in a game. On his part, Akwana said, “I’m delighted to join Dandora Youth. This is a well-organized club whose ambitions are so clear. I had a conversation about the project with Johanna and the management, and I knew that it would be a great opportunity to join the club and help them realize their vision.”
Our most sincere appreciation for the continued support of Dandora Youth Football fans football. We believe these changes will bring about the brightest of futures under Akwana’s leadership.
