On April 29 2018, Kenya international Johanna Omollo sent out a communique informing the media that he had launched a football academy in the sprawling Dandora slums in Nairobi.
Harambee Stars midfielder Johanna Omollo is the latest entrant in the Common Goal project the movement has announced.
The involvement will see Omollo who featured for Harambee Stars in the ongoing African Cup of Nations become the latest footballer to donate a percentage of his earnings to football charities around the world.
Other players in the initiative that was launched with the support of Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata include Dortmund’s Mats Hummels, Giorgio Chiellini, Shinji Kagawa, Kasper Schmeichel, and leading women footballers Alex Morgan and Megan Rapinoe.

Common Goal is a pledge-based charitable movement by street football world for the football industry and it encourages professional football players and coaches to pledge at least one percent of their salaries to a collective fund that supports football charities around the world.
On 29 November 2017, UEFA president, Aleksander Čeferin become the first football leader to join Common Goal.
On 18 January 2018, AFC executive committee member, Moya Dodd joins Common Goal and she will be taking on a role as the management committee of this movement where she will be working to allocate money to various football programs across the globe.
